Become an Animals Best Friend
What to expect...
-
We are based on a farm, which can get quite manic & muddy, so make sure your clothing & footwear is suitable.
​

General duties include cleaning, cuddling rescues, dog walking, poop scooping, feeding, general maintenance around the farm, grooming, building, fundraising help (organisation etc) and others.

Volunteers and normally fed and watered by Animals Bestfriend NZ.

This is a rescue foundation, so realistically you need to be prepared to see some occasional shocking situations, states of animals etc. We do the best we can, but sometimes our best just is not enough.

SPONSORSHIP
​
$5-$10 per month you can sponsor an rescue animal! Great gift idea for children, animal lovers and anyone who would love to help out and sponsor rescued animals. Your chosen animal will hand write & send you letters / holiday cards (Birthday, Christmas, Valentines day etc).
You will be given constant updates & photos. Your animal is available for 1-2 visits throughout the year. The reason these animals are up for sponsorship not adoption is due to several reasons (age, health, special needs etc). Bequests
What is a bequest?
A bequest can be a sum of money, possessions, or items of property left to another person, group or charity in your Will.
Why should I leave something to ABFNZ (Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue) ?
Leaving a bequest to the Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue Charitable Trust is a hands on way to support the Animals by giving them a chance in life.
It is an opportunity to achieve some good beyond your lifetime and give something back to all the Animals you love, so many of which are homeless, lonely and in need of a second chance.
How much should I give?
Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue is a non-profit charity which survives on the generous support, donations, sponsorship and bequests from people like yourself and is funded out of volunteers pockets .
It is entirely up to you to determine what you feel would be an appropriate contribution. No matter how small or large , any contribution is very much appreciated.
How will my bequest be used?
Although our services are provided by volunteers, there are many ongoing expenses associated with running our charity including:
* Veterinary expenses for health care and de-sexing (our largest expense)
* Food/ toys bedding *Rescue cages, holding cages and other equipment *Publicity and raising public awareness
* Transport
Every day we work with and help animals in some way shape or form . Any contribution you make will play a critical role in the rescue, health care and de-sexing .
Making a bequest
If you decide to make a bequest to the Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue Charitable Trust it is important to record that wish in your Will.
Suggested format:
To those benevolent people who may wish to become benefactors by Will to the Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue Charitable Trust, the following form is respectfully suggested:
I (full name) _____________________ bequeath to the Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue Charitable Trust the following percentage/dollars of my estate (in words): _____________________________ and/or the following gift of assets or property: _____________________________ to be free of all duties payable at my death, and the receipt of the Treasurer for the time being of the said Association shall be sufficient discharge for such legacy.
Let Animals Best Friend NZ Rescue know if you have arranged a bequest, so we can thank you ( we understand if you prefer to remain anonymous). We would also like to recognize your gift by providing you with regular updates on our work
