Meet the Team
Started up in 1995 by Amanda & her Mother, Animals Bestfriend NZ Rescue & Shelter has since never turned away an animal & given thousands seccond chances at life.
AMANDA & MISSY

At a young age Amanda was surrounded by animals, and alongside her mother started up Animals Bestfriend in 1995, officially opening its doors in 1998. and in 2016 re naming it Animals Bestfriend NZ Rescue & Shelter.
Since then her passion for giving animals a 2nd chance has only grown, with her partner Aaron helping alongside volunteers, family & friends they have been able to continue their legacy of never turning down an animal.
Missy, a horse Amanda worked hard with to gain her trust after being abused and beaten has become a gorgeous, attention loving mare & has become a permanent resident of the sanctuary.
A cool fact about Missy and Amanda is they share the same birth day not year but month and day and have a bond like no other .
